Project Manager

Reporting to: Head of Programme and Commercial Management

CJ Associates is looking for a dynamic Project Manager to join its growing professional consultancy within the infrastructure sector.  Projects are fast track and will provide you with exciting opportunities in both the public and private sectors.

 This is an excellent opportunity for a recently chartered individual looking to take the next step in their career.  We are looking for a candidate able to work independently, take ownership for successful project delivery; provide leadership and direction to the team and effectively communicate with all parties. 

 Candidates must be flexible in their approach and responsive to our client’s and business needs.  The role will require you to manage relationships with clients and take a proactive role in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the growth of the business.

 Job Function:

 To undertake the management of multi-disciplinary project work as part of a CJ Associates and/or its client teams. 

 This will include the planning and organisation of CJ Associates’ and other client consultants’ resource inputs to the project, liaison with the client’s project representative and staff as required, and the overall management of delivery of the service provided by CJ Associates, which could span any part of a project lifecycle from development of project strategies, option selection and development, through to contract close out.

Key elements of the job:

 This will depend on the nature of the assignment but is likely to include some or all of the following:

  • Identification, planning, tracking, managing, and resolving project issues
  • Dissemination of project information to stakeholders (internally and externally) as appropriate to their interests
  • Identification, management, and mitigation of project risk
  • Ensuring that the project deliverables are of acceptable quality
  • Management of project scope to ensure that only what was agreed to is delivered.
  • Change management and control
  • Definition and collection of metrics (Key Performance Indicators) to give a sense for how the project is progressing and whether the deliverables produced are acceptable
  • Management of the overall work plan to ensure work is assigned and completed on time and within budget

 Expected Skills and Experience

  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Degree qualified in a technical, construction related discipline
  • Professional status (MICE, MRICS, MAPM etc)
  • Project management training
  • Process orientated with clear and logical thought processes and analytical ability
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Good IT skills in the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel and Access) and Project Scheduling tools (eg Primavera or Microsoft Project)
  • Well organised with good follow-up skills
  • Team player with an outgoing personality
  • Good budget manager
  • Experienced in major infrastructure project development including TWA and Gateway Reviews
  • Experienced in major infrastructure projects procurement and implementation.
