Neelam is a highly experienced, versatile communications professional with a breadth of knowledge and experience across multiple disciplines, including PR, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, community consultation, media relations, marketing and events. She has a strong track record of designing and implementing strategies, and delivering campaigns designed to increase media exposure, raise project awareness and mobilise support.
Neelam is a dynamic, pro-active and highly motivated communications professional with several years’ experience of engaging with members of diverse communities, government agencies, local authorities and private organisations to develop cross-functional relationships that contribute to business requirements. Additionally, she is a specialist in digital communications in social and online media with ability to create engaging copy.
Since joining CJ Associates, Neelam has managed the stakeholder engagement and communications with statutory bodies for the A2 Bean and Ebbsfleet junction improvements scheme under the Highways Act 1980. She led and developed the Statements of Common Ground between Highways England and local planning authorities, and environmental bodies within a short timeframe. Neelam delivered the external communication strategy by developing strong relationships with an understanding of technical, environmental and heritage issues, ensuring key matters were addressed and agreements were reached. She was part of the main project team that successfully delivered a public inquiry from start to finish, and the scheme was granted planning consent in June 2020. For the construction phase of the project, Neelam worked in collaboration with Atkins to produce a comprehensive stakeholder and communication strategy.
Working with Highways England, Neelam has also managed the stakeholder engagement and communications with local planning authorities and a key landowner for the M25 junction 10 to A3 Wisley interchange improvements scheme. She supported the development of the Statements of Common Ground and implementation of communication activities during the examination phase of the Development Consent Order.
Prior to joining CJ Associates, Neelam has worked across a range of industries and various projects in a public affairs and external communications capacity, including UK property development schemes. In these roles, she gained a wealth of experience in managing high level stakeholders and enhancing business relationships with senior members of staff, key stakeholders and Parliamentarians. Neelam has a degree in Politics and International Relations and a Masters in European and International Relations.
