Marian is a Chartered Town Planner with 20 years experience in the management and delivery of major infrastructure, environmental, strategic policy, and development projects.  Prior to joining CJ Associates, Marian was Head of Town Planning at HS2 Ltd where she led a team responsible for all planning related matters associated with the delivery of the proposed high speed railway, between London, the West Midlands, Manchester and Leeds.

Most recently, Marian has been undertaking a key role as part of the WSP team delivering the RIBA3 design and planning approval for HS2’s Old Oak Common Station, as Planning and Consents Manager.  She has been responsible for identifying all consents relevant to the station works, engaging with stakeholders through the design process and delivering the key planning submissions required at the RIBA3 design stage.

Marian has advised Thames Tideway Tunnel contractors and multidisciplinary consultants delivering Highways England’s South East Road Improvement Programme on DCO processes and programme.  In addition, Marian has advised contractors delivering Midland Metro on the implementation of planning conditions associated with Transport and Works Act processes. 

As Head of Town Planning at HS2 Ltd, Marian’s role included preparing the environmental minimum requirements, developing the hybrid Bill planning regime,  providing ministerial advice on planning matters, leading engagement with local planning authorities to reach consensus on route wide matters, and establishing processes and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of planning consents by contractor teams.
