Gary is a public policy and corporate communications specialist with extensive political, government (including elected public office) and private sector experience, providing strategic and practical advice on complex policy issues and project communications.
With thirty years’ experience, he has demonstrated ability to communicate complex detail effectively, solve problems and manage projects to a successful conclusion. He has excellent oral and written communications skills and is an accomplished public speaker with extensive media and political experience. He also has a proven track record of lobbying and networking in Westminster and the regions and a thorough understanding of project financing, assurance and delivery, as well as extensive experience in major infrastructure projects.
Gary has extensive local government experience having served as an elected councillor and was re-elected by his peers for three consecutive years as chair of an environment and planning committee, giving him an in-depth knowledge and understanding of planning processes and the machinery of government.
He manages multiple stakeholder teams across his organisation, providing high-level, strategic advice on stakeholder management approaches and innovation on delivery to end clients including; TfL, Highways England, HS2 and Heathrow.
His sector and industry experience includes aviation, shipping, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, ICT, rail, road, buses, ferries, ports, chemical, energy, petrochemicals, utilities, policing, industrial relations, housing and major infrastructure projects including public private partnerships.
