Baker Street
Client: London Underground
The London Underground projects at Baker Street, Archway and Highbury & Islington stations considered the enhancement and modernisation of each station to provide step-free access from the entrance down to the platforms by providing various lifts and associated infrastructure. Baker Street station was one of the original stations on the world’s first underground railway and therefore contains many important heritage features.
We provided Project Management and town planning support for the activities associated with the preparation and promotion of the TWA Orders, planning applications and other consents required for all three London Underground schemes. The objective was to secure all powers and consents necessary to successfully implement the schemes. London Underground put the schemes on hold at different stages in their development and consents process due to funding availability issues.
