Project Name:
King's Cross St. Pancras Station Redevelopment

Client Name: London Underground

Project Background:

A major upgrading of King’s Cross underground station was required to meet increased demand. The project includes expansion and redevelopment of the existing ticket hall and the construction of two new ticket halls underground involving major interfaces between London Underground and Network Rail.

Project Support:

We were responsible for identifying and successfully obtaining all planning and heritage approvals to the Grade I listed building. We engaged with stakeholders and were responsible for stakeholder management, community liaison and the operation of a 24 hour consultation helpline.

We also acted as interface facilitator, providing commercial advice and assistance in all negotiations with Network Rail and the valuation of costs of interface activities. We analysed and settled claims for disruption and the facilitated multi-user interfaces affecting safety, security and operations of most stakeholders.

King's Cross St. Pancras

King’s Cross station was opened in 1852 and the roof, the largest at the time, was supposedly modelled on the riding school of the Czars of Moscow. It is also rumoured that Queen Boudicca is buried beneath platform 8. Over 40 million people pass through the station each year.
