East London Line Extension

East London Line

Project Name: East London Line Extension

Client Name: Parsons Brinckerhoff/TfL

Project Background:

The East London Line is being upgraded and extended to the north and south. When the new line opens in 2010 it will be a key part of the London Overground network with fast frequent train services running from Highbury & Islington to West Croydon, Crystal Palace and New Cross. A further extension is planned from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction via Peckham Rye.

Project Support:

We were retained as a member of the TfL/Parsons Brinckerhoff Programme Management Team to carry out the role of Land and Property Access Controller. Prior to the demolition of a major bridge structure in a densely populated area of London, we also managed stakeholder interfaces and community relations. Our involvement in the project also includes acting as Consents Manager on behalf of the contractor, Balfour Beatty Carillion Joint Venture.

Testimonial

"

CJ Associates managed the community relations activities, including noise mitigation, for a major and potentially very disruptive demolition activity in the heart of a very sensitive residential area. I am pleased to recommend their expertise in the management of the land acquisition process and their wider stakeholder and community relations skills.
