Marian is a Chartered Town Planner with 18 years experience in the management and delivery of major infrastructure, environmental, strategic policy, and development projects.  Prior to joining CJ Associates, Marian was Head of Town Planning at HS2 Ltd where she led a team responsible for all planning related matters associated with the delivery of the proposed high-speed railway, between London, the West Midlands, Manchester and Leeds.

Her role included providing advice on route optioneering, reviewing the Phase One Environmental Statement as part of the client team, preparing the environmental minimum requirements and developing the hybrid Bill planning regime. Marian provided ministerial advice on planning matters, supported petition negotiations, prepared robust evidence to support parliamentary Select Committee processes, led engagement with local planning authorities to reach consensus on route wide matters, and advised on regeneration and growth opportunities associated with the railway.  In preparation for construction, Marian established processes and procedures to ensure the efficient delivery of planning consents by contractors.

More recently, Marian has advised contractors on Thames Tideway Tunnel Development Consent Order (DCO) requirements and processes for consents delivery, Midland Metro Alliance on the discharge of planning conditions associated with a Transport and Works Act Order for a tram extension project, and Highways England consultants on DCO preparation for a regional package of improvement works.
