Jubilee Line Extension

The Jubilee Line Extension runs from Green Park in the West End of London via Westminster and Canary Wharf to Stratford in the east. It was the largest extension to the London Underground railway system for 20 years, including 12.4kms of new twin singletrack tunnels under central London and eleven new underground stations. The project was extremely complex in both its parliamentary and technical aspects. Authorisation by Parliament for the project was achieved in a remarkably short time (28 months), given the difficulties associated with the project’s scale, the route and the land take involved.

On behalf of London Underground, we were responsible for the project management of the Parliamentary process involving the successful promotion of the Jubilee Line Extension Bills through Parliament to obtain the necessary authorisations for the project.
